A global web platform built for performance, scalability and editorial control

We have been Axelent’s digital partner since 2016. Umbraco has powered their website ever since, and in 2026 we migrated the platform to a modern headless front-end built with Next.js. Today, it supports 15 languages, features a product catalogue and a download gallery, and integrates with business-critical systems such as Salesforce, Mailchimp and SolidComponents.

The challenge

A global platform for multiple markets, languages and products

Axelent is a global organisation operating across multiple markets, languages and product areas. This places high demands on a website: content must be managed centrally, product information must be easy to maintain, and the website must integrate with the systems that drive marketing, sales and product data.

The brief was not to build yet another website, but to lay a foundation on which Axelent’s digital presence could stand and grow over the long term, regardless of how many markets and languages were added.

Results

A stronger digital foundation for Axelent’s global presence

  • 15 languages

The platform supports Axelent’s international markets and multilingual content from a single platform.

  • Centralised content

Pages, product-related content and downloads are managed from a single location by Axelent’s own editors.

  • Interconnected systems

Salesforce, Mailchimp and SolidComponents are integrated with the platform, creating better workflows between web, marketing, sales and product data.

  • A product experience to build on

A structured product catalogue lays the foundation for how Axelent can communicate and develop its products in the future.

The process

How we built a better editorial and user experience

We ran the project in close collaboration with Axelent. Together, we reviewed the existing website, identified areas for improvement and further developed the platform, focusing on structure, performance and long-term sustainability.

  • 01

Joint analysis and suggestions for improvement

We began by reviewing Axelent’s existing website together with their team, to understand what was working well, what was creating unnecessary manual work, and what could be improved.

  • 02

A smarter working day for editors

A key aspect was to make the editors’ work easier. We built systems that allow content, translations, images and SEO to be managed efficiently, without the editor needing any technical knowledge.

  • 03

SEO and automation where it makes a difference

Several processes that previously required manual intervention were streamlined. SEO and metadata can now be set up in a structured and more automated manner across all 15 languages, images are processed and resized to the correct dimensions, and the translation workflow has been prepared for AI-based translation.

  • 04

    Headless migration and ongoing development

In 2026, we migrated the front end to a modern headless solution built with Next.js, on top of the Umbraco foundation that had supported the site since 2016. The result was a faster platform that is easier to manage and develop further, with support for multiple languages, a product catalogue, a download gallery, and integrations with Salesforce, Mailchimp and SolidComponents.

The collaboration

A close collaboration since 2016

Axelent is not a completed project but a partnership that has been ongoing for several years. We have been their digital partner since 2016 and, over the years, have maintained and further developed the solution into what it is today. The platform evolves alongside Axelent as new markets, needs and ideas emerge.

  • 01

    Supplier since 2016

A long-term partnership in which we have an in-depth understanding of Axelent’s operations, systems and objectives.

  • 02

    Ongoing development

The platform has grown step by step alongside the organisation, from its Umbraco foundations in 2016 to today’s headless solution.

  • 03

    Long-term management

We remain on board as a technical partner and will ensure that the solution continues to perform effectively over time.
